Technician Courses

Since 1987, The Light Brigade has trained more than 50,000 technicians, installers, engineers, and designers from a wide variety of industries: telephony, broadband, utilities, media and broadcast, industrial, manufacturing, mining, government, aerospace, and the military. Our professional instructors and technicians have a variety of real world practical experience in all aspects of fibre optics. With experience in applications such as communications, signaling, security, and network control, our instructors provide valuable insight into the design, installation, and operation of state-of-the-art fibre optic systems.

FTTx for Installers and Technicians

This four-day class has been developed with 16 hours of classroom lecture and 16 hours of hands-on skills labs to provide practical understanding and hands-on skills required to properly install and maintain fiber-to-the-home (FTTx) networks. Attendees will gain the valuable skills that are required to install, test, and troubleshoot PON and active Ethernet FTTx systems according to ITU, and IEEE standards. Students will perform bidirectional testing, WDM testing, and splitter testing with the latest FTTx test equipment such as PON power meters and optical time-domain reflectometers.

Fiber Optic Technician

This Accredited and Certificated Fiber Optics Technician Course is designed for anyone interested in becoming a Fiber Optics Technician or who needs to understand or use Fiber Technology within their job.
